2011 Fall Fair A HUGE SUCCESS!
This year’s Black Creek Community Fair on September 17 was a great success with a very strong attendance, awesome entertainment, many new and enjoyable kids’ activities, as well as plenty of community participation.
The 2011 Black Creek Community Fair Organizing Committee and the Black Creek Community Association (BCCA) wishes to thank all of the wonderful volunteers, silent auction donors, entertainment, kids carnival organizers, bake table donors, petting zoo organizers and vendors who participated at this year’s event.
We would also like to thank the local community groups and organizations who participated by doing demos and displays. These include the Black Creek Fibre Arts Guild, the Black Creek Halbe Hall Society, the Black Creek Old Age Pensioners #126, the Oyster River Enhancement Society, Mountainaire Avian Rescue Society, the Glacier Heritage Power and Equipment Association, Oyster River Volunteer Fire/Rescue , V.I.B.E.S. (Vancouver Island Brazilian Embroidery Stitchers) and Jeryl Lowe (canning demo.)
Additionally, we wish to send out a huge thanks to the Fair’s sponsors: Black Creek Farm and Feed Supply Ltd. and Irly Building Centre, Broken Spoke Coffee, Discovery Foods, Island Farms, Pacific Playgrounds, Saputo, Seymour Pacific Developments Ltd, Speedpro Signs and Quinsam Communications.
Your contributions of time, labour and support are vital to the well-being of the Black Creek Community Association, as well as the programs and services it offers to the local community and surrounding areas. Our goal this year of fundraising specifically for an extended hours access system for the Community Centre’s fitness room has been met! We look forward to working with everyone again next year and continuing to build on this great event in the community of Black Creek.
Mark it in your calendars! 2012 Fall Fair is set for Saturday, September 15th!
